President Ady Zetelski joined the Sportfriends in 1953 as a player. He evolved by joining the ranks of the Sportfriends Executive Board and held various positions until he was elected Club President in 1975. His tenure was the longest of continued service as President.
He led the Club through many ups and downs over the years and was instrumental in purchasing our present day property. As he liked to say "tough times require tough decisions". It certainly wasn't always a smooth ride for the club and yet under his leadership we were able to persevere.
Even after his stepping down as President in 2009, he remained an active member and volunteered to keep his managerial duties regarding the club and its property. Many times his efforts, though unknown to the general membership, kept us above water. Like a Captain of a ship he had led us through many tumultuous rough seas to where we are today...a Club that is dedicated in its commitment to promoting "The Beautiful Game" and offering an opportunity for youth and adults alike to play it.
Thank you Ady. You will always be remembered as the "Eternal Sportfreunde". ❤⚽️
Respectfully yours,
Nicholas Alberti
